The most important resource you bring to any new learning endeavor is your own experience. As an adult, you have lots of life experience and this gives you a head start for learning new things. At Mindquest Academy, we draw upon your life experience through the content of our courses and with course assignments. We value the knowledge you bring to the program and we help you build on this knowledge to learn even more.

Your individual growth is most important

You are not in competition with anyone else at Mindquest Academy. Our instructors start your learning program right where you are and they work with you to help you meet your own goals. Through a down-to-earth assessment process, you'll learn what skills you need to work on. Your personalized learning plan will map out the courses that will be most helpful for you. Your instructor will guide you as you work on assignments – to help you grow in knowledge and in academic skills.

The best learning is relevant to your life

Research and our own experience tell us that we learn best when what we're learning is important to us. Mindquest Academy courses focus on what you need to know and be able to do to be a successful college student. Whether you're learning about time management in college or about how to write an essay, you'll be working with practical concerns. Readings in the courses and from the Internet are often on topics of current interest – the "hot" issues of our time. Mindquest Academy materials give you many opportunities to apply your learning to your own life.

We're affordable!

There are no fees for tuition or books! You pay nothing to take Mindquest Academy courses. That's because our program is funded through Adult Basic Education, Perkins grants, and in-kind contributions from colleges that have a College Prep Program using our courses. This means that you don't have to dip into your own savings or use financial aid while you're preparing yourself for college work.

Good teachers make a difference

Our teachers are enthusiastic about your progress. They're your guides on the path to college. All Mindquest Academy teachers are licensed and all have experience and training in online teaching methods. They'll work with you to facilitate your learning – whether you're working from home or in their classroom. They'll support you in your learning and, at the same time, challenge you to learn more, to learn more deeply and to become a lifelong learner.

Education gives us the tools we need to build fulfilling careers, participate intelligently in a democratic society, and create satisfying relationships with others. With these tools, we grow in power over our lives and in ability to direct that power toward pursuing goals that are important to us.
